“Calhau” an exhibition featuring the work of Seattle-based sculptor Julie Speidel (b.1941) will run through February 18, 2017, at Winston Wächter Fine Art, Seattle. The selection of works on display expresses the artist’s connection to stone and how it connects our past and our ancient history. Her work is influenced by her formative years in Europe that taught her the spiritual and symbolic importance stone has held throughout time, and its ability to record all aspects of our lives. Today Speidel uses carefully chosen pieces of marble to record her story. She also uses Japanese Torinoko paper, considered the most permanent paper in the world to create totemic bronze and marble sculptures onto paper effortlessly. The exhibition is on view at Winston Wächter Fine Art, 203 Dexter Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109, USA.For details, visit: http://seattle.winstonwachter.com/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
