Angell Gallery, Toronto, Ontario will be hosting an exhibition by contemporary Canadian artist, Steve Driscoll.Steve Driscoll is one of the contemporary greats. He uses material like urethane and pigment to recreate mesmerizing scenes of the Canadian wilderness. He draws inspiration from his predecessors who recreated the beauty of Canada in their paintings. But, his uniqueness lies in the fact that, he simply makes mental images of the natural beauty of Canada, it’s mountains, lakes etc. and carries those images back to the studio. Then begins his magical process of transforming urethane and pigment to convert those images into spellbinding visual delight. His previous exhibitions at the Angell Gallery and others have already shown that he is not a proponent of plein-air impressionism. He once flooded the gallery with three inches of black water for his Day-Glo compositions. His latest exhibition promises to be the same. "Westward Gaze,""The Most Curious Message,""Imagined State of Mind," and "Witness,'' are some of his works on display at the exhibition. The artist is equally invested in the method to his incredible creations, as much as the finished artwork. To him, experimenting with a set of colors and the industrial material urethane is to create an experience that will make the viewers an integral part of the journey. Added to that, the inclusion of the gallery space, as a part of his projects, ensures that, the viewers forget where they are and find themselves, where the artist first had his vision. The opening reception in on Friday, November 17, 7 PM to 9 PM.The exhibition is on display from November 17 through December 21, 2017 at 1444 Dupont St., Unit 15, (Entrance off Campbell Ave.), Toronto, Ontario, M6P 4H3, Canada. For more information please visit: http://www.angellgallery.com/Please click on the slideshow to get a preview of the exhibition.
