It is tempting and dangerous. The representations are mysterious through its explicit compositions and implicit impositions. The artworks on view are provocative while they are challenging — natural and unnatural. The human body is represented with chastity as it shows the wounded soul. It provokes celibacy yet renders to be objectified, reflects beauty, invokes fantasy and obsession, toys with shame becomes sublime and showcases sin. The series is a depersonalized representation and includes a work by Frank Ahlgrimm (1965) titled, “Selektion” created in 2005. The work is created with acrylic, oil and industrial lacquer on canvas. The work is signed by the painter. The work is inspired by Frank Ahlgimm’s “Home of Beauty.” The show includes Josephine Meckseper’s “Sanitätshaus Hofmann No. 1” created in 2005 in C-Print. The show also includes work like Josephine Meckseper’s “Untitled” 2014, among other works. The show is on view through 26 January 2018, at Galerie Reinhard Hauff, Stuttgart, Paulinenstraße 47, 70178 Stuttgart, Germany. For details, visit: www.reinhardhauff.de/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the artworks.
