“Fantasy” at Martin Browne Contemporary, Sydney

Martin Browne Contemporary will soon be hosting a group exhibition titled “Fantasy” from June 28, 2018.The exhibition will feature a collection of works by various artists including: Tim McMonagle, Alexander McKenzie, Ildiko Kovacs, Kevin Chin, Linde Ivimey, Michael Muir, Peter Cooley and others.Tim McMonagle is a painter from New Zealand who was born in 1971. Tim McMonagle has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Rex Irwin Art Dealer and at the Bendigo Art Gallery.Alexander McKenzie was born in 1971 in Sydney, Australia, the son of Scottish migrants. He studied at the Julian Ashton Art School where in 1994, he won both the inaugural Brett Whiteley Scholarship to the school and the Brereton Memorial Prize for draughtsmanship from the Art Gallery of NSW.Born in 1962 in Sydney, Ildiko Kovacs has been exhibiting since the 1980s and has been shown in a number of group exhibitions, including the Wynne Exhibition, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney (2014); “Crossing Paths II,” Raft Art Space, Alice Springs (2013); and “Fieldwork,” Bathurst Regional Gallery, NSW (2011); and MCA, Sydney (2010).Michael Muir is renown for his landscapes that evoke a sense of nostalgia and playfulness through his use of flattened perspective, muted colors and engaging scenes. In producing his artworks he skillfully uses a palette knife to convey his narratives, which are often inspired by his personal family lifeMartin Browne Contemporary is dedicated to showing the finest in Australian and international modern and contemporary works of art. The gallery combines a program of new work by its exhibiting artists with curated exhibitions of selected works from the secondary market. Complementing its exhibition program, Martin Browne Contemporary produces an extensive range of publications.
