Galerie Krinzinger is hosting works by Bernd Opp at its Vienna venue.Galerie Krinzinger presents a collection of new works by Bernd Opp, which see the artist continue on from his previous series. The Vienna gallery will host the show until August 3, 2018.Oppl is showcasing a choice of new photos and collages that he created during his artist residency in Wiels, Brussels. In his works “Terminal A” and “I looked around the internet” from the Black Rooms series, he continues full-room installation series, in which he creates model realities. The templates used for the photos are models of rooms. The exhibition will also present a series of abstract photographs. The motives of the Splinter’s series look like broken glass but actually come from the inside of an analog middle-format camera. Torn celluloid parts are shaken in an old analog camera body, leaving visual traces on the film layer after exposure, says the gallery."A similar principle is used in the Lens Solution series. While in Splinter, the camera view is turned into the interior of the camera, Lens Solution contains exposed negative fragments inside the camera. These are film strips with advertising photographs of flea markets. Through these motive fragments, analog photos are created. The film fragments, which are located inside the camera, preform the perception of the outer world during the shot,” the gallery adds. Many of these photos were taken out of diverse Internet forums and archives and selected tattooed body parts have in common that they depict architecture. It can be said the motives are combined as a skyline of a fictitious city. "Peep Hole” consists of a black box with an eye in the middle of a round opening. It is the artist's eye and his eye movements. "In a strange close-up, the eye is focusing and the movements of the eye race through the carousel of an endless video loop at a confusing speed of time,” the gallery says.Galerie Krinzinger was founded in 1971. Since then at least 400 solo, group and topic shows have been organized. The main issue of the gallery program results on one side from international performance art and body related art (Chris Burden, Mike Kelley, Paul McCarthy, Nancy Rubins) based originally on Viennese actionism (Gunter Brus, Otto Muehl, Hermann Nitsch, Rudolf Schwarzkogler).Furthermore, the gallery has always been working with young national and international artists and is representing the following younger artists: Atelier van Lieshout, Kader Attia, Dubossarsky& Vinogradov and many others. The exhibition is on view through August 3, 2018 Galerie Krinzinger, Seilerstatte 16, 1010 Vienna, Austria. For details, visit: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/galerie-krinzinger/overview Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.http://www.blouinartinfo.com Founder: Louise Blouin
